MIDDLETOWN, NY (April 27)……..Traditionally in the order of things, feature races are the last on most racing programs. But this coming Saturday, May 3, at Orange County Fair Speedway the two open wheel divisions, Modifieds and Sportsman, will complete their entire card of qualifying heats, last chance consolation races, and their respective features before the track’s official intermission period. OCFS 358 Modified Competition Notice

On a trial bases OCFS, starting 04/26/08 Will allow 358 modified's, running with big block modified's the right to run their DIRT weight in big block modified races, excluding series races. This means the following: 358 full spec 2350 lbs , 358 spec head only 2400 lbs, 358 open motor will be lowered to 2500 lbs, same as big block modified, all 358 cars must follow 358 rules to a tee, with the exception of weight. This will be only on nights that the 358's are not on the racing schedule, our intention is to allow 358 drivers to acquire more seat time.In addition, coming very soon, a date will be released for OCFS very first midweek test and tune night. This will be a 3 hour session, fee will be the same as our pre season open practice, 20.00 , all OCFS divisions' welcome.

OCFS Handicapping Changes For 2008

In the interest of improved competition, for drivers and fans alike, OCFS has decided to make changes to the handicapping system for 2008. Handicapping will still be based on the last three weeks, but money points will no longer be used for the Modified, 358 and Sportsman divisions. Instead, with the help of handicapper Bob Freer, all classes will use “handicapping points”. The Pro Stock and Pure Stock classes have used “handicapping points for the past two years...FULL STORY
